Fabrics provide one of the most powerful mediums for your
architectural imagination. No longer just an accessory to
architecture, fabrics contribute to both function and fashion.
Walls can be replaced by fabric facades, edifices can be enhanced
by soaring banners and atriums joined by sweeping fabric swaths.
In both residential and commercial installations, Graniteville
Specialty Fabrics are as unique as your signature and as timeless
as your imagination.
Laboratory testing has demonstrated that Graniteville awning
fabrics prevent the penetration of water allowed to accumulate
on their exposed surfaces for eight hours and more. Testing
has also demonstrated that on average Graniteville fabrics
provide outstanding hydrostatic resistance, especially when
compared to solution-dyed acrylic or polyester. Ask your Graniteville
Representative for details on the products you require.
Calabana, Calliope and Gala are registered with and certified
as meeting the requirements of the California State Fire Marshall.
Calliope and Gala have been further classified by Underwriters
Laboratories, Inc. On a special-order basis, Aqualon can be
produced to meet Motor Vehicle Specifications FMVSS-302.
If you’re looking for more than just a few good fabrics,
it’s time to call in Graniteville’s marine corps.
We cover all boating needs from stem to stern. Biminis, dodgers,
mooring covers, over-the-road boat covers, sail covers, wheel
covers and pontoon canopies. We’re also leaders in fabrics
for flotation devices (our Lite Pac is widely used and rated
#1 for Type II Life Vests).
Graniteville marine fabrics are polyester, polyester/cotton
and nylon fabrics crafted in a variety of weaves, plies, deniers,
and finishes to withstand tough marine exposure conditions.
They are water, salt-spray and mildew resistant, and provide
maximum resistance against wear and fading from sunlight,
rot and normal atmospheric chemicals.
Graniteville Specialty Fabrics has earned
a reputation for innovation in virtually every product category,
including tentage, where we trademarked the first insect-repellent
tent fabrics. As with the awning and marine markets, our tentage
fabrics are designed to withstand the harsh impact of the
wind, rain, and sun. Combine that with the fire resistant
nature of our fabrics, and it’s easy to understand why
we are leaders in the coated tentage market.
Laboratory testing has demonstrated
that Graniteville tentage fabrics have good resistance to
hydrostatic leakage and are treated to help shed water. Ask
your Graniteville Representative for details on the products
you require.
Tex Tex, Titan, Polaris and Americana
have been certified to the Canvas Products Association International’s
flammability specification CPAI-84. Polaris and Gala have
been certified to and registered with the California State
Fire Marshall under regulation 76.02. Gala has been further
classified by Underwriters Laboratories, Inc.
Graniteville Specialty Fabrics often develops products for
markets and clients where the starting point is nothing but
a possibility. Combining creativity with proprietary technical
and practical experience, we’ve manufactured fabric
for apparel, ironing boards, hot air balloons, outdoor furniture
and more. Now you can take advantage of existing fabrics for
your application, or commission finish a fabric to meet other
specific needs.
